Get Involved

L’Arche Winnipeg began in 1973. Our community has grown over the years, and today we welcome 25 people with a developmental disability who are living in our six houses and one supported-living apartment, along with approximately 30 assistants, many of whom have come from other countries to experience L’Arche and make Winnipeg their home.

There are many ways you can get involved!

Four of our houses, our apartment, and our Office are in the east end of Winnipeg (Transcona) and are all within walking distance of each other. Our two other homes are closer to downtown Winnipeg (in Windsor Park and St. Boniface).

Become an Assistant

At L’Arche, people with and without intellectual disabilities live, work, and learn together, creating communities of friendship and belonging. We foster mutual relationships, celebrate the unique value of every person, and strive for a world where everyone can belong and contribute.

Volunteer with us

We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities for individuals, families, and groups. Volunteers receive orientation about L’Arche and are connected to a house or program.

Become a Core Member

Our care model is based on the belief that people with disabilities are not patients, clients, residents or service users – but teachers, guides, companions, and friends.

Employment Opportunities

L’Arche Winnipeg is committed to supporting each person to reach their potential.
