L’Arche is part of the worldwide movement for inclusion of persons with disabilities – and all who are vulnerable and marginalized – as full members of their communities. With our partners, we are working to promote essential human values, contributing to a more diverse, creative and vibrant society.
Within L’Arche International, communities support each other to grow and contribute their unique gifts in a spirit of solidarity and respect for difference. L’Arche Canada and the communities of L’Arche in Canada participate in the International Solidarity program through Twinning (two communities in different parts of the world building friendship and discovering the gift of the other) and by sending human and financial supports to L’Arche in the developing world.

Brought up by folk-singing parents in a vibrant music community, Luft has a spirit that drives her to connect with people, and for this she is loved everywhere she goes. She is one of Canada’s hardest working musicians, armed with amazing tenacity, vision, energy and a contagious hilarity. To quote the roots magazine No Depression, “Luft has a rich tradition in folk music – it’s safe to assume that she knows her stuff – and upon listening it becomes quite clear that she is indeed a formidable songwriter and performer… [The] lovely Ms. Luft sets the bar for the talented few who’ll follow in her footsteps.” In 2011 she branched out into instructing at music camps for adults and teens, discovering an immense joy and skill in helping others tap into their own creativity. Cara’s the real deal, there’s nothing pretentious about her. And that sense of honesty, integrity, personality and spontaneity permeates both her music and her live shows.
Winnipeg country musician Gary Gach performed at our Oct 19th Solidarity Music Night, while friendly volunteers served cake, coffee, and tea. Thank you for coming out to support L’Arche communities around the world!
